9 am Sunday morning Divine Service for 12/14/14. Traditional liturgy and law gospel sermon. Pastor Bagnal’s sermon. John 1: 6-8; 19-28 the Gospel. Advent has never been given its due. Lent seems more powerful. John the Baptist’s message gets lost in the coming of Jesus. We want Christmas to be here.
We need to slow down and appreciate Advent for what it is; preparation for Christmas. John the Baptist proclaims the need for Jesus Christ. We approach the coming Christ in penitence and desperately need Him. Advent is the time to pray and prepare to receive mercy and forgiveness. God walks amongst us.
