Divine Service for 7/27/14; Pastor Houser’s sermon from Matthew 13. The Kingdom of Heaven is won for us by Jesus Christ. He made us the new chosen people. Like the Hebrews in the Old Testament, God chooses us despite our sins. However, the Messiah came through the Hebrews. We are chosen not because of anything we have done, but only because of God’s grace. As Paul says in Romans 8, we are called according to His purpose.
