9 am Sunday morning Divine Service for 2/15/15. Traditional liturgy and law gospel sermon. Pastor Houser’s sermon. Gospel reading Mark 9: 2-9. Transfiguration Sunday. Elijah and Moses appear with Jesus. Elijah and Moses are the law and a filter. Christ is the lens through which God sees us.
The law acts as a filter, curb and guide like a filter cleans the dirt out of water. But even if we filter water, the essence of the water remains just like we remains sinners and the world is still fallen. The law can’t save us but Christ, the lens, does. Because of Jesus, God sees us a righteous.
