Pastor Houser’s Sermon from the Gospel of Matthew 21:33-46. In the beginning God created man in His image. Eden (the vineyard) was perfect with access to God. But then there was the fall. The vineyard is not paradise anymore. We are separated from God by sin. We’re in the same situation as the tenants in the vineyard who killed the son (today’s Gospel reading). We’re wretched sinners who deserved a miserable death. But we don’t get what we deserve. Jesus gives us access to the Father. By grace we have been transformed from wretches to children of God. Jesus is the cornerstone upon which the weight of our sin rests. Our salvation comes from Him.
