Pastor Houser’s sermon from the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 20: 1-6. Speculation and proclamation. Jesus tells the parable of the master of the vineyard who hires workers throughout the day and pays the same wage. That’s the proclamation. The speculation is how much each person will be paid and the true intent of the master. Those who started first think they are worth more. The kingdom of heaven is like the vineyard; all who believe are saved. We don’t need to speculate. Like the master of the vineyard, Jesus seeks us and brings us in so we may live and not die. Our sins are forgiven.
