Sunday Divine Service for Good Shepherd Sunday 5/11/14. Pastor Philip Houser’s sermon from John 10. Door. Jesus uses that word four times in today’s Gospel reading to convey who he is and what he’s done. Doors, like shepherds, provide protection and comfort. In this case the door provides access to Christ, the good shepherd. Jesus is the door by which we enter heaven and eternal life. The door provides access — but can also be locked. Our Faith saves us and unlocks the door. Jesus is the access to righteousness and is the only way.
